Scientific articles writing style attempts to emphasize the presented data and not the presenter of the data. This requires a peculiar writing style known to those who read scientific articles. One rule is to never use the first person.

This style is supposed to aid in the impartiality of presented data. However, this writing style is exploited. Drug companies study how to present data to clinicians in ways that would support drug companies’ interests. Moreover, everyone, including scientific writers arebiased. In complying with scientific writing, this bias is purposely hidden.

Readers need to judge the accuracy and usefulness of what they reads. So why not ease up the rules of scientific writings and allow for a more enjoyable read?
